You’ll receive GPS-tracks of all routes in the guidebook at no extra cost when ordering the book directly through us. Our provision of GPS-tracks allows you to use the Outdoors navigation App or device of your choice. All you have to do is importing our files onto your preferred navigation tool and off you go!
GPS-tracks are provided in GPX-exchange format and will be dispatched via email in a compressed Zip-folder to the email address provided with your order. Download this file to a computer, laptop or tablet first. Open the Zip-file by a right click and selecting Extract All or equivalent. Then explore the provided folders and its contents. Before transferring to your Outdoors navigation App or device, check its attributes on the limitations of tracks- or points memory. We provide you with a large number of tracks, so if you run an App or device with limited track- or points memory, you might have to transfer and use the tracks in smaller chunks. Refer to the manual of your tool to make the tracks visible on its the screen. The tracks in GPX-exchange format should work on any Outdoors navigation tool, but we can’t be to any further assistance it they don’t. Provide mapping data for your device yourself as needed. Mapping data as a base layer is not provided, we only provide the tracks! We recommend only using the tracks in combination with the printed guidebook.
Please also note that, as there are so many products on the market, we can’t provide further advice on which outdoors App or device to purchase. Usually, internet forums are a good start to find out more about the available products. We recorded our tracks with a Garmin Oregon 300. All our tracks are carefully recorded on location, providing the highest level of accuracy as possible.
If you are new to all this technology, find it all too high-tech or you do have difficulties to set it all up, please remember that our guidebook is designed for easy navigating without all this modern technology. You do NOT need a navigation tool to find your way around.
